Climate Information Service
Climate and climate application data not only has numerous file formats, but also requires enormous amounts of time and resources to process. Researchers and policy makers need user-friendly file formats and data extraction services to conveniently utilize climate data.
The Climate Information Processing System (CLIPs) applies big data processing methods to climate data with multiple file formats, to aid researchers who are unfamiliar with processing mass data. CLIPs provides processed data, visual and statistical information in accordance with user demands, allowing information to be filtered by time, region, datasets, and other related variables.
This service helps researchers reduce time spent on data processing and alleviates the need for costly high-end hardware and software. This service is expected to be widely used in Korea as well as developing countries that lack appropriate IT infrastructure.
